fashion bug of a new kind

Take flight into a bug's life!
It can be colorful, artsy and a tad humorous.

But very stylish too!

Lady Luck!

Ladybug knows a good thing when she sees it. And she is the reason bugzter was created ... plus, I must credit inspirational artists whom I've admired for years, Charlie Harper and Shag.  I’ll admit, I used to hate bugs. Especially creepy spiders and greasy cockroaches ... ew!  BUT, I began to be more observant, and noticed so much complexity to their body design. I realized with time, insects are nature’s ultimate art.

Once, I used to say, “Yuck, what an ugly black widow next to that menacing scorpion...OMG, scary!” but now, I see these creatures as being cool, total individuals who are different and quite magnificent—with impressive designs and personalities.  Especially the ones with stingers.

So, the artwork began to flow (or fly).  By finding bugzter, you’ve obviously got a bug bite. It’s ok to love bugs, even mosquitoes, but here, you don’t have to worry about getting stung.  Take a look around and have fun. Buzz around our little shop, too!

hair bugz

The Madera Peak ladybug of Arizona is very orange. Photographer David Orr (hubby) thought it would be funny to dump hundreds of ladybugs on my head. I think everyone should try this at least once!

beetle mania

What would a dung beetle hang inside his bungalow?  This guy seems to know quality dung when he sees it.  I like that he has a bit of a wild west look even Wyatt Earp would raise his poker chips to!  Want to decorate your room with some pizazz? Shop around for some cool art here.

bugalicious merch

Fashionable bugaboo, you! The bugzter shop not only has great bug shirts, but lots of buggy accessories like artsy handbags, cell phone covers ... all kinds of insect swag! Bee so stylish and create a buzz!

Ants in my pants

the bulldog ant

Unlike those other bulldog ants, our little ant here enjoys socializing, loves honeydew martinis and has invented the “nectar dance of Sydney, Austrialia.”  She prefers not to be a lethal bug like her fellow bulldog companions, but she certainly likes to keep her reputation of having awesome vision and flexibility—no wonder her dance moves are so impressive.

Kids, stay away from real bulldog ants.  Our fun gal is a much safer and fun companion! New shirts just arrived!

Blue Suede Dung Beetle

what on earth inpired this?

This hip scarab works hard all day helping keep the grasses green and the agriculture pest free. After work, it’s time to unwind. He puts on his blue suede shoes and rocks out to Elvis. He hasn’t got the whole hip-swing technique down, so he modifies his swagger and walks like an Egyptian.  It’s just natural!

Praying Mantis Dreams

they like to surf and dance

There are a lot of useful ways an insect can use a leaf, and surfing is no exception.  Air surfing, that is.  It’s a whole new sport, and praying mantis wants to show it off!  And although fighting and boxing is something they are well known for, these evolved creatures have turned their energy to new wave dance moves.  Time to dust off that old disco ball.

New dance moves here.
